Have you always wanted something a little different than what you see on Instagram or at your neighbor’s house? Felipe Prado takes pride in thinking outside of the box. Always seeking inspiration from natural elements rather than photos of existing spaces, Felipe’s designs are never ordinary.
Felipe has over a decade of experience in interior design, with a specialization in designing custom millwork. Born in a small, vibrant town in Mexico, Felipe moved to the large metropolis of Guadalajara to attend one of the best industrial design university programs in the country. He was exposed to all different trades; metal work, woodworking, and even interned with the incredible textile workers in Chiapas, Mexico. It was there that he developed his curiosity about materials, which has given Felipe the base of knowledge to explore innovative ways of using different materials in his designs. Inspired by the simple, timeless, and effective designs of Luis Barragan, Felipe approaches each space with a keen eye to maximize practicality in the most efficient and unique way possible.
After setting up several kitchen showrooms in Mexico, Felipe lived in both Spain and Italy and was always impressed with the way they blended modern designs into heritage spaces and maximized small footprints to optimize space. These are principles he utilizes on a daily basis to solve spatial and design challenges that his clients are facing. Felipe moved to Canada in 2011 and has worked in the cabinetry industry in Victoria, BC.
Felipe is known by his clients for his approachable and fun nature, his ability to develop functional and interesting plans, and his ability to source and support the correct trades to get projects completed efficiently and effectively.
